Camp Unique A Week of Purpose, Friendship, and Possibility

What an incredible week! Camp Unique 2026 was filled with laughter, new friendships, exciting activities, and countless moments that reminded us why this camp is so special.

Throughout the week, our campers participated in daily fitness sessions led by Coach Damon and the team from Train Unique. Each workout encouraged campers to challenge themselves, celebrate their accomplishments, and discover that they are capable of more than they ever imagined. Every exercise was met with determination, smiles, and plenty of encouragement from friends and volunteers.

Our campers also enjoyed a variety of unforgettable experiences. They played basketball, danced with the amazing Langiappe Ladies, explored creative activities, and were inspired by talented acrobats who showed that perseverance and practice can accomplish incredible things. Every day brought new opportunities to learn, move, and grow.

One of the greatest blessings of Camp Unique was the incredible community that surrounded our campers. More than 20 volunteers each day gave their time, energy, and hearts to ensure every participant felt welcomed, encouraged, and included. Local businesses, sponsors, and donors made it possible to provide meals, activities, supplies, and a memorable experience for every camper.

Camp Unique is about so much more than a week of fun. It is a place where individuals with special needs are celebrated for who they are, where confidence grows, friendships flourish, and everyone is reminded that they have unique gifts and purpose. Every smile, high five, dance move, and shared laugh reflected the mission of DREAMS Foundation of Acadiana—to empower individuals with disabilities to live with confidence, purpose, and joy.

As we closed the week with our camper showcase, families witnessed firsthand all that had been accomplished. From new skills and friendships to greater confidence and unforgettable memories, our campers left Camp Unique stronger than when they arrived.

To every camper, family, volunteer, sponsor, donor, and community partner—thank you for making Camp Unique 2026 such a tremendous success. Your generosity and support created a week that will be remembered for years to come.

We are already looking forward to next year and can't wait to continue building a community where every individual is valued, included, and given the opportunity to shine.
